Heather Joy Puskarich was born and raised in Dallas Texas and is currently based in Pittsburgh. She received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Pittsburgh and is currently working on an MFA in Sculpture and Dimensional Studies specializing in Glass at Alfred University. Her work consists of traditional darkroom photographic processes and contemporary imagery in glass processes such as photo resist sandblasting, fusible films and metal blasting and combines flat glass techniques with hot casting. Currently Heather is exploring the concepts of phenomenology of the visual experience and the ambiguities of the human form, the relationship of photographic imagery and the viewer, and temporality and comprehension of the physical and psychological sculptural space with regard to movement, color and materiality of the form.
