heather joy puskarich / glass photography sculpture
Heather Joy Puskarich is a Pittsburgh based glass artist specializing in Photographic Imagery in Glass. Her work consists of a combination of traditional experimental darkroom photographic techniques and contemporary glass processes such as photo resist sandblasting, fusible films and metal blasting.

"Experimentation in artistic process is very important to my growth as an artist but the true heart and soul of my work is my personal connection with the art. It is critical to me that I preserve the intimacy of the work. Coming to terms with my journey, ideas of passion, gender, sex, family and loss are common themes in my art. The female form and self-portraiture are familiar vehicles of expression in the work through the monochromatic stillness of black and white photography and have evolved with the layered with the ever changing and malleable glass contrasted with the harshness of steel. Glass, photography steel. These are the tools that allow me to tell my story, my vision, the need to expose the pain and beauty of loss, the curve of a woman’s grin, or the birth and death of the self."
